Challenge:
The main challenge was to achieve a bright, mirror-like appearance on the taillight bezel while avoiding visible defects such as flow marks, sink marks, weld lines, scratches, and uneven gloss. Since the surface quality was highly visible on the final assembly, strict control of mold polishing, material flow, cooling balance, and molding parameters was required.
Solution:
We applied high-precision machining and fine polishing to the core and cavity surfaces to meet the mirror-finish requirement. The gate layout and cooling system were optimized to improve material flow and reduce surface defects. During mold trials, mold temperature, material temperature, injection speed, holding pressure, and cooling time were adjusted to ensure a stable high-gloss appearance and consistent surface quality.
