Challenge:
The main challenge was to achieve a clean and consistent textured appearance on the headlamp bezel. The visible surface required clear texture replication, uniform grain depth, and stable gloss. Any instability in mold texturing, material flow, cooling balance, or molding parameters could lead to defects such as uneven texture, gloss variation, flow marks, weld lines, shrinkage, scratches, or deformation.
Solution:
We carefully controlled the mold texturing process to ensure consistent grain depth and clear texture definition. The gate layout and cooling system were optimized to improve material flow and reduce surface defects. During mold trials, we fine-tuned the mold temperature, material temperature, injection speed, holding pressure, and cooling time to achieve stable texture replication and consistent surface quality.
