  • Challenge:
    The main challenge was to ensure that the mold core met the required photometric and regulatory standards while achieving a bright mirror-like surface on the fog lamp lens. The core surface required extremely high machining and polishing accuracy, as any deviation, polishing mark, flow mark, weld line, sink mark, or uneven gloss could affect both the appearance and the final light distribution. Since the part is a photometric lens, surface quality and dimensional accuracy were critical to meeting the required lighting performance.

    Solution:
    We applied high-precision machining and fine polishing to the mold core to achieve the required mirror-like surface quality. The optical surface of the core was carefully inspected and controlled to ensure compliance with photometric requirements. The gate layout, cooling system, and molding parameters were optimized to reduce surface defects and maintain dimensional stability. During mold trials, we fine-tuned the mold temperature, material temperature, injection speed, holding pressure, and cooling time to ensure a stable high-gloss appearance and reliable photometric performance.
