Challenge:
The main challenge was to achieve a bright and uniform mirror-like surface on the visible area. The part required strict appearance control, as any flow marks, weld lines, sink marks, scratches, polishing marks, or uneven gloss could directly affect the final visual quality. Stable material flow, balanced cooling, and precise molding parameters were critical to maintaining the high-gloss surface effect.
Solution:
We applied high-precision machining and fine polishing to the mold surface to meet the mirror-finish requirement. The gate layout and cooling system were optimized to improve material flow and reduce surface defects. During mold trials, we fine-tuned the mold temperature, material temperature, injection speed, holding pressure, and cooling time to ensure a stable high-gloss appearance and consistent mirror-like surface quality.
