Challenge:
The main challenge was to achieve a bright, mirror-like surface on the visible area while avoiding common appearance defects. The part required strict surface quality control, as any flow marks, weld lines, sink marks, scratches, polishing marks, or uneven gloss could directly affect the final appearance. Stable material flow, balanced cooling, and precise molding parameters were critical to maintaining a consistent high-gloss finish.
Solution:
We applied high-precision machining and fine polishing to the mold surface to meet the mirror-finish requirement. The gate layout and cooling system were optimized to improve material flow and reduce surface defects. During mold trials, we adjusted the mold temperature, material temperature, injection speed, holding pressure, and cooling time to ensure a stable high-gloss appearance and consistent mirror-like surface quality.
